Anonymous gameplay measurement

What The Goat Squad records

The Goat Squad measures draft starts, selections, rerolls, rewarded ad reroll attempts and rewards, completed results, optional tension ratings, and result shares. This helps us understand whether finishing 17-0 is appropriately difficult.

Approximate unique players

The server converts the request IP address into a one-way, secret-salted hash. The raw IP address is never stored by the application. The hash is used for rate limiting and approximate 30-day player counts, then removed after 30 days.

GOAT eligibility accounts

Players may optionally sign in with Google to register for GOAT eligibility. In that case, the application stores the Google account subject identifier, verified email address, chosen display name, eligibility confirmations, and whether the player separately opted in to promotional email. If a signed-in player enables draft alerts, the application stores that browser's push subscription endpoint and keys so it can notify the player when an invited opponent joins a draft. Draft alerts can be turned off from the same browser.

Trophy shipping details are collected only from registered GOAT eligible players. Shipping details are encrypted by the application before database storage and are used for trophy fulfillment, winner verification, and required account or eligibility notices.

Promotional email consent is optional. GOAT eligibility does not require promotional email opt-in, and trophy or account notices are handled separately from marketing email.

What is not collected

Anonymous gameplay analytics do not collect your name, email address, account, precise location, or a persistent device identifier. Admin Google sign-in is restricted to approved project reviewers and is not part of player analytics.
